How good are fresh cherries for you1/24/2018 How good are fresh cherries for youUpdate Saturday 30 Dec 8:40pm If you follow us on Facebook at: When entering Plummers Road don't be fooled by extensive signage placed by others - that's not us. NB it always pays to check this website or the phone message fefore setting off. to get our latest updates. We don't place signage anywhere except in the immediate vicinity of our property which is about 760 metres up Plummers Road - we have no connection with other operators on this road. Don't be fooled by excessive signage or that which might lead you to believe you have already arrived at our place until you actually get there and see (up Plummers Road - on the right): If they (no prizes for guessing who) don't vandalise it again - BTW if they do I will apply for damages and an injunction against them - also against any officers of the Adelaide HIlls Council who give them preferential treatment compared with us (that's happened before) - I won't miss the time limitation deadline this time around. our driveway looks like this Drive in - there is on-site parking We are Adelaide's leading and oldest established pick your own (PYO) cherries specialist. Our entire crop from about 4000 trees and many varieties is dedicated solely to PYO. We seem to have become an Adelaide icon. For many families Christmas isn't complete without a visit to Forest Range Cherries to pick ripe cherries fresh from the tree and experience the old-fashioned farm atmosphere. When I get a moment I'll add some text to the trains page for choo-choo geeks explaining how this all works - it's quite simple really. Cherry picking usually begins around December - just occasionally the last week of November. There's usually a gap of a few days after the early season and then, from the start of the main season we used to open 10am - 6pm most days (but never Christmas Day), but as time has gone on we have become so popular that after many open days we have to close for a while and let some more fruit ripen - so it's important to check here for exactly when we will be open. For that reason we regularly update this page and the phone message to say what's going on If you follow us there (see - I know what that means) you'll pick up our updates on your phone or whatever if you have the appropriate notifications set up. To find out about days and times when we are open for cherry picking and other news see our noticeboard below. You can find the full details of our prices on our prices page. Check our Recipes ( now updated with sour cherry recipes ) page for authentic and sensible things to do with cherries as well as eating them fresh, including the authentic recipe for clafoutis. Click to go to our recipes page Trains-wise (this is much more important) . Almost forgot - there is some news - the train tracks have been extended to include a shuttle train which climbs the hill to Santa's grotto - automatically controlled to go back and forth - and an extension to the normal tracks so that they meet it at a station - and stop and wait automatically. To avoid confusion for new customers, here's what our frontage looks like. It's on the right hand side 760 metres up the road. And you drive down the gumtree lined driveway shown here You may sometimes find other signs for PYO Cherries before you get to us - that's not us. Nowhere else will you get the same quality for the price as here. That's what we're renowned for.
